Sekenani Camp
Sekenani Camp is situated in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the very heart of the big game country in southern Kenya. The camp is built at the source of the Sekenani River which rises from a rock pool at the east end of the camp and forms the stream which flows infront of each tent.
The camp is operated in conjunction with twenty six Maasai families who have a share in the business. It is the logistical center for a community development project developing infrastructure for health-care, veterinary services, education and clean water for people living around the reserve.
Accommodation
The camp accommodation comprises of fifteen well-appointed tents, each with a full-length bathtub. The tents are separated from the restaurant and bar by a suspension bridge across the Sekenani River, and in such a way to ensure complete privacy.
The public areas are in a large tent-like structure with canvas sides which are rolled up during the day. In the evenings a campfire on the veranda is the focal point for guests who enjoy drinks and exchange stories before dinner.
