Flamingo Hill Tented Camp
Flamingo Hill is a tented camp and the first in Lake Nakuru National Park which lies within the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. Nestled between the “honeymoon hills”, and set in beautifully landscaped grounds with natural foliage and a variety of indigenous African plants and flowers, Flamingo Hill Camp provides superb, tented eco-friendly accommodation. Guests are met on arrival with a glass of juice to cool down after a day on the road, before being escorted to one of the camp's 25 tents.
The khaki canvas tents are decorated in neutral safari colours and sheltered under traditional thatched roofs. They all have understated four-poster beds, made from wood and wrought iron, with floating mosquito nets, and crisp linen sheets. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom to the rear with a flush loo and showers with hot running water to wash away the dust of the day. At the front of each tent is a veranda overlooking the plains. The restaurant seats 80 people comfortably, serving a combination of à la carte and buffet style meals.
Activities from the lodge are focused around the animals; these include taking game drives in the park and sun-downers in the bush or having massages in the spa to soothe tired bodies after a day bumping around in the bush.
