Severin Safari Camp
Severin Safari Camp is a deluxe accommodation in the elusive heart of Tsavo West National Park. Built almost entirely of wood and stone with thatch roofs, the camp is located in a semi-arid plain, dotted with acacia and doum palm trees with watering holes frequented by varied traversing animals.
Its ambience of serenity and closeness to nature is reflected in the open lounge and dining room-cum bar that is furnished with lightweight, wooden furniture. Choose a book from their miniature library or relax with board games. Complimentary Wi-Fi services are also available for your use. You can also shop for knick-knacks and handmade curios, the proceeds from which support the craft industry of the local people. Stone-lined, gravel pathways lead to the individual tented rooms scattered around the grounds. You will be ushered to your tent by an armed guard after dark where traditional lanterns with contemporary bulbs light the pathways at night. The camp has 27 tents and suites in all, some with twin beds and other with double beds with an optional third bed as an add-on.
The octagon shape tents are made of canvas with a flap entrance and mesh windows that let in the daylight, cool breezes, scents of vegetation and resonances of the fauna countryside. Rollback entrances and a modest patio with safari furniture add to the charm of the tents. The en-suite bathroom is at the back and has a stone countertop, hairdryer and quality toiletries for your use. Safes, turndown and housekeeping services are also provided.
